Wash and dry the chicken.
Place a large pot of salted water on the stove.
Add the chicken and cook until cooked through, about 5 minutes.
Drain the chicken in a colander, set aside.
Chop up the onions and add them to the pot.
Cook the onions until they are translucent, about 4 minutes.
Add ginger, garlic, and chiles, and cook another 3 minutes.
Add garlic and onion to the chicken broth.
Bring the broth to a boil, then reduce the heat to low.
Cook until the chicken is tender, about 3 minutes per side.
Stir in the sweet potato and the cream cheese.
Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
