Posted January 29, 2018 07:08:15 In a slow cooker, a lot of recipes call for ground pork or ground chicken.
But these recipes call a lot more than that.
In this post, we’ll show you how to make a very quick, tender and flavorful pork recipe that is super easy to throw together in just 5 minutes.
And, if you like pork that is a little lighter on the meaty end, this recipe is for you!
For those of you who are not into the meat, I’ll explain why.
If you like it, there are lots of different recipes you can try out that include ground pork and chicken, or ground beef or pork loin.
If I’m wrong, let me know!
For ground pork, it is commonly referred to as ground beef.
But it’s actually a combination of ground turkey, ground beef, ground pork plus salt, pepper, and lots of other things.
I use a combination that is fairly easy to prepare.
It just comes together in a pot and then you can simmer it on the stovetop or on the grill.
It’s really not that complicated.
This recipe can be easily substituted with other ground meats or even just pork.
Just use what you like and you’re good to go!
Ingredients 2 pounds ground pork (or ground chicken) (I used a whole pound for this) 1 onion, finely chopped 2 cloves garlic, minced 1/2 cup vegetable oil 2 tablespoons dried parsley, chopped 1/4 cup dried thyme 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper 2 tablespoons smoked paprika 1/3 cup grated cheddar cheese 1/5 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese Directions Put the pork in a large stockpot and cover it with cold water.
Bring to a boil over medium heat.
Once the pork is at a boil, lower the heat to a simmer.
Simmer until the meat is tender, about 5 minutes or so.
Drain the pork and shred the onion.
Add the garlic, onion, parsley and thyme and stir until the onions are translucent.
Add ground black and paprika and season with salt, black pepper, pepper powder and cheddar.
Add in the ground turkey and cook over medium-high heat until the turkey is cooked through, about 3 minutes.
Add cheese and cook until melted.
Add Parmesan and stir through the cheddar, then pour over the pork.
Let simmer for at least 10 minutes or until cheese is melted.
Pour over the shredded pork and serve!
